Centerpiece of the Week - Green and White Wedding Flowers and Limes
December 1, 2009 –
While getting my daily dose of facebook I stumbled across a centerpiece that one of my friends made. Now this is no ordinary friend. This is the fabulous Audrey Crandell who owns Glowing Bridal. Brides, if you are looking for a spectacular makeup artist who is a pleasure to be around give Audrey a call…you will not be disappointed.
She created this table arrangement for her mom’s birthday party. It is truly beautiful. The use of limes is one of my favorite elements. Audrey was wondering about the acidity in the limes causing problems. I asked the Karen with Huckleberry Karen Designs and she said that the acidity and sugar actually helps the flowers just makes the water dirty after a day or so.
I also love the use of the baby blue patterned china. A great touch.
Audrey you rock!!
Burlap Wedding - DIY Table Runners
November 24, 2009 –
I love the look of burlap. You can see my ode to burlap post here. I came across instructions for a DIY burlap table runner. Burlap is such an inexpensive fabric and looks great if you are doing a casual wedding but also can look very modern and chic. Below you will find instructions on how to DIY burlap wedding table runners. This post is from a great wedding resource: Style Me Pretty.

These instructions are verbatim from Style Me Pretty.
Materials
One bolt of 54-inch wide burlap (you can use less, but 21 runners took the full bolt)
Teal Blue Thread
Directions
1. Cut fabric in lengths of 14 feet, two inches.
2. Cut in half lengthwise so that each strip is 27 inches wide
3. Turn the ends and sides under one inch and hem
4. Stitch with a zig zag stitch (my mom used the largest zig zag, about a quarter of an inch) on her machine and chose satin thread)
5. Iron flat
Day of Coordination (DOC) Services in the San Francisco Bay Area
November 22, 2009 –
Day of Coordination Services or DOC for short are typically for the couple who wants to plan all aspects of their wedding but need some assistance towards the end of the wedding planning process. Even though its called Day of Coordination typically work begins at least one month out. Wedding vendors are contacted, a detailed wedding timeline is created and all final details regarding the wedding ceremony and reception setup are worked out.
I think that Day of Coordination Services are a necessity for a wedding. When I began planning my own wedding I adopted the following rule: that family members would not be allowed to work at my wedding….they would be guests only. I held true to this rule and enlisted the help of Christine from Ribbon & Tie. Yes, I did help with the setup for my reception but at some point I needed to get my hair and makeup done and had to relinquish control. All went excellently and I did not have to worry about a thing.
You can read about the Bellissima Vita Weddings Day of Coordination Package here.
Centerpiece of the Week - Orange and White Wedding Flowers
November 20, 2009 –
I love bottles….all shapes and all sizes. I love how this arrangement was made using different types of bottles with just a few beautiful flowers in each.
