Carnival & Circus Themed Wedding Part 2 - The Food

Gosh I love fun food.  And food is often a great way to carry a wedding theme out.  For a rustic italian wedding it is common to come across food served family style just like sunday dinners in sicily.

What kind of food would be appropriate for a carnival or circus themed wedding?!?!  Well the possibilities are endless really.  Mini corn dogs with a fancy aioli, truffle popcorn, even cotton candy!

Staws can be found here.

I had the pleasure of dining at Straw in San Francisco recently.  If you need some carnival and/or circus inspired food just check out their menu!!  Plain awesomeness.

Cool Things Wednesdays 78 - Unique Wedding Decor and Ideas

I am a sucker for different.  I love using these keychains as a way to escort guests to their tables.  Of course not for large weddings and yes they are a little pricey…

Mason drinking jars are not a new concept.  But I love the lids with the straws!!

Seedlings are a “green” concept wedding favor.  I love the packaging on these

How cute would these be as vessels for wedding flowers.  And only $10 each!

These bottles would also make great centerpieces with just a few stems in each.

I love these placemats.  Would look so great on a wedding reception table.

Burlap Wedding - DIY Table Runners

I love the look of burlap.  You can see my ode to burlap post here.  I came across instructions for a DIY burlap table runner.  Burlap is such an inexpensive fabric and looks great if you are doing a casual wedding but also can look very modern and chic.  Below you will find instructions on how to DIY burlap wedding table runners.  This post is from a great wedding resource:  Style Me Pretty.

These instructions are verbatim from Style Me Pretty.

Materials

One bolt of 54-inch wide burlap (you can use less, but 21 runners took the full bolt)
Teal Blue Thread

Directions

1. Cut fabric in lengths of 14 feet, two inches.

2. Cut in half lengthwise so that each strip is 27 inches wide

3. Turn the ends and sides under one inch and hem

4. Stitch with a zig zag stitch (my mom used the largest zig zag, about a quarter of an inch) on her machine and chose satin thread)

5. Iron flat

I am always searching for unique wedding place cards or escort cards.  I love these zinc place cards.  Very unique and slightly industrial.

We have all seen those beautiful pom poms that Martha Stewart can make.  Let me tell you they are not easy to make.  Especially if you have to make one for every guest or wedding favor.  Check out these wedding pom poms from etsy.

I love these pom poms used as napkin decor.  A lovely little detail to add to your wedding.
