The first flower girls of Ancient Rome were responsible for carrying wheat and herbs which signified fertility and prosperity.  Today’s flower girl does not have to cover the aisle with rose petals (many venues don’t allow this because of staining).  Why not outfit your flower girls in stylish chic outfits and small bouquets?
